Mum Life in Korea

Moving to Korea has been a life-changer for me both as a wife and a stay-at-home mum to our kids. When you are to move to Korea there are many things that one should learn or research before or immediately after your arrival in Korea. This is based on my life experience as an ex-pat stay-at-home mom. I hope it will help one or two readers.

GROCERIES

In Korea, there are big shops like Costco where one can buy groceries in bulk at an affordable price especially if you have a big family like ours. we are a family of 6 hence buying at Costco is a good bargain for us .they have almost all products we want from food products to cleaning products some household goods and clothes. In order to buy in Costco, one should have a COSTCO membership card which you pay for There are different membership cards so you choose what best works for you.

1. Business Membership      KRW 33,0000
2. Executive Business Member  KRW 80,000
3. Goldstar Membership  KRW 38,500
4. Executive Goldstar Membership  KRW 80,000

There are other big shops like Lotte Mart, Home Plus, and No Brand. The good thing about Korea is that convenience stores are everywhere and they are operating 24 / 7.

ONLINE BUYING

We also make use of online buying which was a great deal especially when the pandemic hit the world. There are many online stores where you can order anything you want. Their delivery system is fast and efficient. For us, we use G Market and Coupang. When buying things like furniture and clothes I would recommend you do proper research on measurements before buying online.

The other thing that has made my life easy is searching for items I want to buy either on Facebook or Karrot. If you are not a big fan of spending too much money on everything you won't go wrong if you log in to these two platforms. I'm sure there are more platforms other than these two where one can buy items like preloved clothes and furniture, at times you can get new stuff too.
